This is an Unreal environment crafted as part of an online course to improve some less frequently utilized skills, such as working more intensely with layered materials and animation.
The water was developed from scratch rather than using Unreal's built in extension and the ground is layered to create more realistic landscape features. The mountains were added with a topography map and the birds were sculpted and animated to give the appearance of flapping wings as they move across the scene.
The course also implemented Niagra fluid systems for both the fire and the insect swarm that meanders across the lake. Additionally, it took a deep dive into modifying materials to suit specific needs and create variety, as demonstrated by the cabin roof and the boards of the dock.
